Chinese President, Indian PM Modi to visit Rwanda

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping are expected to visit Rwanda shortly during their visit to attend the forthcoming BRIC meeting to be held at South Africa. The state visits by both leaders are set to further strengthen Rwanda’s ties with China and India, two emerging economies in the Asian region. During the visits, Rwanda will sign a number of agreements for cooperation between the two countries.

His Excellency President of Rwanda Paul Kagame visited China in early 2017. He also visited India twice in the last couple of years. The national carrier, RwandAir flies to Mumbai, Indian commercial capital. It is expected to start commercial flights to the Chinese city of Guangzhou in the near future.

Of late, Rwanda is making steady progress in areas like tourism, manufacturing and services sectors. Stable leadership and an ecosystem that promotes businesses are the key reasons for world leaders seeking collaboration with Rwanda. Importantly, President  Paul Kagame is the President of the African Union.
